Wynne Farm

The Wynne farm is truly a hidden place of education and inspiration.  A thriving oasis of serene greenery overlooking an intense city of big cars and big walls, Port-au-prince.  The ecological reserve was apparently founded in 1956 by Victor A. Wynne, an American Civil Engineer who while working in Haiti realised the looming threat of erosion and deforestation due to some of the questionable agricultural practices.  He therefore proceeded to buy up plots of land from local landowners and create an experimental oasis, instigating some of the more successful indigenous practices from the region, such as terracing and composting.
